Free Preschool Programs
Shiawassee County has two different free preschool programs for children three and/or four years of age. In order for children to attend these programs the child and family must meet the eligibility requirements.
GREAT START READINESS PROGRAMS (GSRP) formerly known as Michigan School Readiness Program provides free preschool to children
who are 4-years old by Dec 1 that meet eligibility criteria.
HEAD START is a free preschool program for eligible three to five year olds.
Children who are 3 before Dec 1 of current school year AND MUST NOT turn 5
prior to Dec 1 of current school year to be eligible.

prior to Dec 1 of current school year to be eligible.
