Early Childhood Public Service Announcements: The importance of investing in early childhood
  • From the business perspective - As a business leader, it makes sense to invest in providing our youngest citizens with quality early experiences. Optimal brain development occurs during the first three years of a child’s life. This directly impacts their future success in school and productivity in life. The states that have the most educated workforce have the most robust economies. To ensure the future success of the economy in Shiawassee County, we must provide a highly educated workforce. Give your child a great start.
  • From the parent perspective - As a parent, I am their first and best teacher. I want them to have every opportunity to play and learn. It’s quality early experiences like these that are essential for optimal brain development. These will help give them the tools they need to succeed in school and grow into productive adults. Give your child a great start.
  • Optimizing brain development - The first five years of a child’s life are a time of great opportunity. Everything they see, hear and do shapes their developing brain and directly impacts their future success in school and life. 85% of their brain is developed before they even enter kindergarten. Give your child a great start.
  • Social-emotional skills - Investing in the young children of Shiawassee County is an investment in our future. Children need access to quality early childhood experiences in order to be prepared for school and life. Through interactions with their peers, they are developing social-emotional skills such as cooperation, conflict resolution and problem solving skills that are the foundation for their future success. Give your child a great start.
