The Status of Young Children in Shiawassee County In order to make a wise decision about the future of our young children, we needed to know what their current status was in Shiawassee County. The Shiawassee County Community Report (PDF) represents community data in five areas, each which makes a critical contribution to the optimal brain development, health and early learning of young children.
The results of the Shiawassee GSC Strategic Planning process in the form of the Shiawassee Early Childhood Action Agenda is available on-line.
Early experiences influence brain development The young child’s early experiences and environment directly impact the development of his or her brain. These opportunities are shaping the brain and laying the foundation for future success in school and life. Investing in our Youngest Learners slideshow is available on-line for viewing.
