Learning Opportunities

Shiawassee RESD Early Childhood Services, along with its partners, offers numerous learning opportunities for parents, childcare providers, and preschool staff throughout the year. Below you will find a list of such opportunities and the web sites for additional opportunities.

Shiawassee RESD Early Childhood Services

• Love and Logic – a FREE five-week program for parents and other caregivers of children from Birth – 6 years. This program is about “raising respsonsible children using a win/win philosophy.” Find specific answers and actions for some of those difficult moments of child rearing. • Childcare and Preschool Provider Trainings – Each year the Shiawassee RESD contracts with the Office for Young Children (OYC) to provide several FREE trainings at various locations across Shiawassee County. • Shiawassee County Collaborative Early Childhood Conference – This half-day conference is held yearly, typically in March. It is a collaborative effort of the entire early childhood community in Shiawassee County. It is designed for:

  • Childcare providers
  • Parents of children birth to five years of age and other adult family members
  • Preschool teachers and staff
  • Human service agency staff who work with families with young children
